Mobile phone donation for people in need
The Zumtobel Group donates 435 unwanted mobile phones for the “Ö3 Wundertüten” campaign and consequently for people in need in Austria.

Thanks to the dedication of employees from the Zumtobel Group, 435 mobile phones which were no longer wanted once the users had changed provider were handed over to Caritas Vorarlberg. This is the equivalent of a 1,300-euro donation.

Doris Ramspeck from Caritas Vorarlberg expressed her appreciation for the charitable commitment shown: “This will enable us to help people in Vorarlberg who are in severe financial difficulty by providing them with food vouchers, for example, or by helping them to pay their electricity or rent bills.”

Since 2005, the Hitradio Ö3 campaign in association with Caritas, Licht ins Dunkel (“Light into Darkness” charity), Österreichische Post AG and packaging manufacturer Mondi has shown itself to be a simple and reliable means of recycling old mobile phones. People who donate their unwanted mobiles enable help to be given to Austrian families in need. Over the past year, over 450,000 phones have been donated.
