Flexible organisation for demanding tasks.
Full programme. Full flexibility.
Flexibility is the main feature of all trainee programmes in the Zumtobel Group. Because TraineeZ is oriented towards your personal ideas. In contrast with many other trainee programmes, it is not merely aimed at the needs of the company. Show us where your talents lie and let’s jointly organise your programme!

Programme content
Each programme extends over a period of between 18 and 24 months and consists of five to eight different placements in different departments and at various locations. A period abroad of at least three to a maximum of nine months is also part of the programme. We only choose one or two placements for you – the rest of the programme is planned jointly. Your tasks will be characterised by a mix of project work and routine business.
Getting started
Each programme starts off with an orientation week. Here you will find out about your placement possibilities and the area and/or the task where you will begin your programme with us. To help you get off to a smooth start, we shall familiarise you with your resources. You will also get to know your contacts and have the opportunity to exchange views with them as well as with other trainees.
How you get started is just as flexible as the programme itself. We jointly decide the department and the tasks with which you will begin.
A colleague reports on her experience at the start of the TraineeZ programme:
"My first placement within the trainee programme was in Production Planning and from the first day I got to know the real life of Operations within ZLD. The project task was very complex and absolutely new territory to me but with help from my coach and with the great support from my colleagues I finally managed the project."
Robert, Trainee Operations

Support and Mentoring
As a trainee you won’t be left on your own. Because we accompany you throughout the entire programme. A contact from Human Resources will provide help with organisational questions. A mentor from senior management will be there to act as your “sparring partner” – in regular meetings he or she will give you food for thought as well as valuable professional and personal tips. Together with these people, you will plan and coordinate your placements and measures for your development. They will help you to build up your own network of contacts from different areas.
You will receive open and fair feedback on your placements – also from the respective departments themselves. But feedback will not be just in one direction. In the regular meetings or in the formal annual interview you will also be called upon to assess your placements, your programme and the support you have received.

Networking
Expand your skills and build up a comprehensive network. We shall offer you placements with a multitude of interfaces to various departments and divisions.
Internationality
As a successful global player, the Zumtobel Group is present worldwide. This internationality characterises our day-to-day business. You will work with colleagues from different countries and cultures, English is spoken at many meetings, and in our day-to-day business correspondence is also frequently written in English. However, fluent English is just a minimum requirement: the greater the enthusiasm and assurance you show in your dealings with other cultures and the more languages you speak fluently, the greater and the more international your opportunities will be in our organisation – also with regard to your deployment abroad.
Our TraineeZ are well-placed to explain how they have experienced the international environment:
“For my projects, I had the opportunity to get to know colleagues at various locations in Germany, the UK and France, which gave me a better understanding of views and contexts.”
