Living Light
Light is a part of life, like the air we breathe and the water we drink.

This thought is also reflected in the title of our image booklet “Living Light”, which we created in cooperation with Studio Achermann in Zurich and their partners. In this booklet we present people of the Group’s global network who dedicate their working lives to light, and by doing so, also enrich light through their lives and work.

Our employees are at the heart of the booklet. United by their enthusiasm for light, they are instrumental in shaping the success of the Zumtobel Group and its brands. The same can be said of our customers and partners. They appear in our booklet as well, since they themselves – as well as the experiences we share with them – all help new ideas, projects and products to take root.

Many artists have contributed to realize the concept Beda Achermann, creative director of Studio Achermann, created for this booklet. Oliver Helbig, a Berlin photographer, took pictures of the people presented in the image booklet. Florian Holzherr, who was also the photographer for our latest annual report, took the light pictures by capturing the lighting moods that were projected onto a wall. These lighting moods were created by Rogier van der Heide, Chief Design & Marketing Officer of the Zumtobel Group, using exclusively our own luminaires. All the light pictures were taken at Zumtobel Group headquarters in Dornbirn.

“Light unites technological innovation with the captivating power of appealing to our emotions. That’s why I find it so unique. I have the good fortune to have as my opposite number on the Supervisory Board Mr. Zumtobel, who at seventy-eight is still exceptionally open to new things. That means we can implement the changes the market expects with great efficiency.

It’s clear to me that light is becoming a service – a complete package including planning, installation and maintenance. We have to build a bridge between our innovative technologies and the emotions of the customer we are aiming to thrill with our lighting solutions. Everyone knows they feel better when the sun is shining. We have to show them that good lighting can make them feel the same way. And to achieve that, we need the knowledge and expertise of every employee. It’s the only way we can make a real contribution to shaping the future of light.”
