Restructuring of the two divisions – Lighting Solutions (Zumtobel Licht GmbH) and Lighting Components (Tridonic-Bauelemente GmbH) – as independent sub-groups.

1991
Working on stereolithography starts in the Zumtobel Licht Toolmaking division. At the time, the system is one of five installed in Europe and the only one of its size in Austria.

1991
Zumtobel Licht is one of the first Austrian companies to be awarded ÖQS certification and then complies with the requirements of standard DIN ISO 9001, breaking new ground in the lighting industry.

1993
Acquisition of a 51% stake in the Staff Group of Lemgo, Germany (the remaining shares are acquired in 1994).

1995
Zumtobel AG commences its Internet activities with a Group website.

1995
The Zumtobel Licht Toolmaking Division uses stereolithography for medical and anthropological projects.

1996
Opening of the Zumtobel Staff Vienna Lighting Forum, in the immediate vicinity of Stephansplatz; the interior design is by Hans Hollein, one of the foremost contemporary architects.

1996

Opening of the Zumtobel Staff Lighting Forum in Lemgo; the Forum, with an area of 1,000 square metres, is the largest customer and information centre of the subgroup.

1997

Establishment of Zumtobel Staff Lighting Ltd. (Kuala Lumpur), the Zumtobel Group’s first sales office in Southeast Asia, to provide support to local sales partners.

1999
The Orea waveguide luminaire is presented at the World Light Show at the Hanover Fair. Orea is the first luminaire to feature a light-conducting microprism.
