          2000
          Acquisition of Wassall plc in order to merge Thorn Lighting Group with the luminaire business of the Zumtobel Group (1998 Thorn Lighting Group is acquired by Wassall plc.); the acquisition is financed with the assistance of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) as equity capital partner.

          2001
          Start of LED operations.

          2003
          Handover of management: Andreas J. Ludwig (2003-2010)¬†becomes Chief Executive Officer of the Zumtobel Group; after 22 years at the helm, Jürg Zumtobel becomes new Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

          2006
          Initial public offering (IPO) as the logical next step in the corporate growth strategy. The Zumtobel family remains the largest single shareholder with a stake of approximately 34 percent.

          2009
          Martin Brandt, Chief Operating Officer, becomes additional member of the board. The Group introduces a "parent company concept" with its lighting business managed directly by the Executive Board of the Group.

          2010
          Harald Sommerer succeeds Andreas Ludwig as the Chief Executive Officer of Zumtobel AG as per May 1, 2010.

          2011
          Mathias Dähn takes up his duties as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He succeeds Thomas Spitzenpfeil, who left the Executive Board at the end of September 2010.


          2013
          Ulrich Schumacher succeeds Harald Sommerer as the Chief Executive Officer of Zumtobel AG as per October 1, 2013. He also takes up his duties as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on an interim basis, succeeding Mathias Dähn.
