Dornbirn, Austria – As one of the largest employers in Vorarlberg, the Zumtobel Group yet again supports young people on their way to entering work life. At the beginning of September, 18 new apprentices started their careers at the lighting group.
Young talents for the Zumtobel Group
„These young people are our trained professionals of tomorrow. Education and training plays a vital role in the Zumtobel Group. It is important to us to support our apprentices in developing their technical skills as well as in developing their personality. I really appreciate the possibility to accompany these young motivated people on their way to work life“, says Felix Stecher, Head of Vocational Training at the Zumtobel Group’s training workshop.
In Dornbirn, the Group's headquarter, apprenticeships are offered in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, plastics engineering, metal engineering, process engineering, mechatronics and IT technology. The Zumtobel Group is the city’s largest private employer and is currently training a total of 82 apprentices.
Extra training programme
In addition to the specialist training in the training workshop, apprentices at the Zumtobel Group can also benefit from a competence training during the three years of their apprenticeship. The company’s LEAD programme (LEAD equivalent for commitment, individual development, motivation and competence in dialogue) focuses on developing the personal skills of each individual. In workshops, training programmes and projects, the apprentices have the opportunity to develop and promote their personal strengths and skills and to train working in a team.
